The House of Brazilian Culture in Canada is a non-profit organization created for both Canadians and Brazilian immigrants living in Canada.

The House of Brazilian Culture in Canada is a non-profit organization created for both Canadians and Brazilian immigrants living in Canada.

Our mission is to promote the Brazilian language and culture across the Great White North. To achieve this, we aim to bring together the many Brazilian communities across the country and develop strategies that empower them to grow and thrive together.

Our mission is to promote the Brazilian language and culture across the Great White North. To achieve this, we aim to bring together the many Brazilian communities across the country and develop strategies that empower them to grow and thrive together.

Our work is based on four fundamental values:

BELONGING

We welcome people of all beliefs, genders and ages. Whether they want to learn Portuguese, immerse themselves in Brazilian culture or strengthen initiatives in their local communities, our doors are always open to all. As the Brazilian saying goes, we can always add more water to the beans.

UNION

While the presence of Brazilian immigrants in Canada has grown exponentially over the years, the efforts of Brazilian communities have largely been concentrated in major cities like Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, where they have developed in relative isolation. We aim to be a space that brings together and uplifts the contributions of less visible communities, consolidating Brazilian culture from sea to sea.

TRUST

In times of scams and fake news, we strive to make our House a trusted source of information. All our work will be carried out by human beings, and our research reports serve as a foundation for decision-making in both public and private spheres.

EXCELLENCE

We are the first trilingual website dedicated to Brazilian culture in Canada. Our content is written and reviewed by professional translators with proven expertise. In addition to high-quality original content, we promote supporting materials developed by Brazilians with practical and/or academic experience in their respective fields.

This is where we understand each other.

In this space, we aim to gather and publish data on the Brazilian community living in Canada. This information will be compiled into annual research reports that answer key questions about our community, such as:

Based on these insights, our goals are to:

Data will be collected annually from May to September. The results will be shared on this website on November.

This is where we gather.

The Brazilian Cultural Symposium in Canada is the first nationwide event focused on the Brazilian and Canadian communities who wish to learn more about Brazil. The symposium brings together Brazilians who have made a significant impact artistically, academically, socially, and politically, with the goal of discussing relevant themes that will help strengthen the Brazilian communities in Canada. The symposium is free and was live streamed on September 14th, 2025. Check out the event program below (Montreal time, UTC-4).

This is where we learn.
